March 2th: Trf in Airport / Selected Hotel
March 3th: Full day Wine Tour Visiting Lujan de Cuyo. A Wine Tour in Lujan de Cuyo offers great wines, spectacular views of the Andes, and prestigious wineries. With a fascinating combination of tradition and modernity, Lujan is home for some of the most renowned Malbecs in the world. This region is a perfect example of how man’s effort turned this dessert into a fertile Oasis. In Lujan de Cuyo you will learn about traditional irrigation systems, in contrast with the newest technology, providing you with an understanding of the basic components of wine-production here in Mendoza.
March 4h: Harvest Activity including lunch + "Via Blanca”. Today we invite you to join one of the most important labours in the wine making process. During March, the grapes start to be ripe and sweet. With the assistance of the winery staff, each of the participants will receive the proper explanations and materials to understand and perform the Grape Harvest. After this exhausting experience, you will for sure enjoy the "Fires Menu”, cooked at the Patio of this antique winery from 1897. The programme also includes a visit to the winery. The first event of Vendimia features the queens’ "Via Blanca” which is held on Friday night. The "Via Blanca” is a parade in which allegorical vehicles from each of the provincial departments carry their queens along the streets of downtown Mendoza. Be sure to catch one of the grape clusters thrown by the queens!
March 5th: Transfer to Harvest Festival, Acto Central, Malbec Tickets. During the morning, enjoy at your own pace the Carroussel de las Reinas. The same allegorical vehicles of the Via Blanca, this time together with carriages, wagons and stagecoaches from the colonial times; old cars, loaded donkeys, "gauchos” riding on horses, musical groups from guest countries, bands of street actors and musicians, etc.Wine Harvest festival 2014. At 7.00 pm your bilingual guide will pick you up from your Hotel in a van. We drive towards the Frank Romero Day amphitheatre and your guide hands you the harvest festival tickets before entering. We chose the best seats for you: from there you will have a unique view over the scene! More than 20000 spectators sit in the Greek amphitheatre and many more at the foothills of Cerro de la Gloria to see the show. More than 400 actors create an unforgettable show to narrate the spirit of the vintners. Afterwards the national grape harvest queen will be elected, and an impressive firework show will put an end to the big night. After the Show (1am approx), return to your hotel.
March 6th: Transfer out * The price includes roundtrip transportation from downtown hotels to the central Act of the Harvest festival, bilingual guide that escorts the group during the show, Malbec tickets (the best available), box lunch. Pick up starts at 7pm, return will be approx at 1am.
*Transportation in a Van with other clients. Airport transfers include Spanish speaking driver only (no English speaking guide), and are flexible to fit your arrival flight/bus. Valid only for downtown hotels. Wine tours include tasting fees, English speaking guide, complete lunch with mineral water, wine coffee, etc. Valid with a minimum of 2 passengers in the group, otherwise, price might be higher. Hotel is not included in the price.
